Downforce is generated by restricting the air flowing to the underside of the body. When installed as a set with the under spoiler, greater downforce can be generated.

The spoiler center directs moderate airflow to the underside of the floor to promote exhaust airflow from the engine cooler, through the transmission, and cooling the differential.
The wing shape of the spoiler side draws air from the front tire house to enhance the cooling effect.
