This is a straight-through type with the first catalytic converter—located immediately after the turbine—removed.
Since the stock catalytic converter is located where exhaust pressure is highest, it places extreme stress on the engine; tuning to increase engine power further exacerbates these conditions, raising concerns about catalytic converter melting and the occurrence of knocking. A straight-type downpipe reduces exhaust pressure, improves exhaust flow, and significantly reduces the load on the engine.
