Sales Style
We take your stock turbocharger and upgrade it for high flow by replacing the compressor and turbine wheels with larger ones and modifying the stock turbo housing.
All OEM parts can be reused.
Installation is possible without reinforcing major engine components.
Torque characteristics of DME tuning
With DME tuning, the S55 engine delivers intense acceleration up to around 4,500 rpm, but once it exceeds 4,500 rpm, the acceleration becomes more gradual, and it feels as though the engine is coasting up to redline.
This is because the intake air volume that the stock turbo can deliver peaks around 4,500 rpm; as the RPM increases, the air-to-fuel ratio decreases. Since peak power is achieved above 6,000 rpm, the car continues to accelerate but the acceleration slows down due to the drop in torque.
A high-flow turbo is a recommended upgrade if you want to minimize this torque dip and achieve smooth acceleration all the way up to high RPMs.
Power Balance
Compared to the stock setup, torque is significantly higher at RPMs above around 3,500, but low-RPM torque remains roughly on par with the stock level.
When compared to DME-tuned vehicles, around 4,500 RPM serves as the turning point.
The engine delivers smooth performance from low to high RPMs and is easy to control, with particularly quick response in the high-RPM range.
DME tuning on the actual vehicle is required for a power boost.
It is difficult to achieve a sufficient power boost by simply upgrading the turbocharger.
DME tuning commensurate with the upgraded turbocharger is necessary.
Although results vary depending on measurement conditions (such as ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure) and tuning specifications, the power output is approximately 620–670馬力 without correction for actual rear-tire measurements.
GCG Upgrade
This is a LAPTORR-exclusive specification and differs from standard GCG products.
All upgrade work—including machining, assembly, and balancing—is performed by GCG JAPAN.
