Dry Carbon Engine Hood and Trunk Lid for the E46-M3
We are developing dry-carbon engine hoods and trunk lids for the E46 M3.
We've opted for dry carbon to keep the weight down.
In terms of weight reduction, there are various benefits—most notably improved throttle response, which is one of the joys of the S54/NA engine—as well as increased performance at the limits of braking and cornering.
Safety is also a key factor, so we have incorporated a frame on the back to ensure sufficient structural strength.
In addition to the stock design, the engine hood lineup is scheduled to include a version with air intakes.
The trunk lid features the genuine CSL design.
