DEVELOPMENT

The prototype model is complete. The overall style is largely finalized, and production will begin once minor details are adjusted. This product is planned exclusively in wet carbon. It consists of two sections: upper and lower. The upper section replaces the stock rear bumper cover.The lower section features a suspended design, with the front tip extending to the canister cover to generate downforce. The side panels wrap around to the outer edges of the bumper, creating a style that balances the volume of the GT wing. It is compatible with vehicles equipped with the LAPTORR EXHAUST E466M. Scheduled for release around January to February 2023!

We've created a dry carbon fiber prototype engine hood for the E46 M3. Weighing 4.7 kg, it incorporates a frame to ensure sufficient strength. The center duct is positioned to expel hot air passing through the radiator, while the side grilles vent heat from the engine compartment for cooling. The raised duct shape on the hood's surface generates turbulence to enhance the exhaust effect.  

We are developing dry carbon engine hoods and trunk lids for the E46 M3. Dry carbon is used to achieve weight reduction. Weight reduction offers various benefits, chief among them improved accelerator pedal response—a key pleasure of the S54/NA engine—along with enhanced braking and cornering limits. Safety is also a critical factor; a structural framework is installed on the underside to ensure sufficient strength.The engine hood will be available in both stock shape and duct-equipped specifications. We've created a prototype exhaust system for the E46-M3, which has been under redevelopment since 2021. We are progressing with plans to release it this summer to fall. Starting in May, we will conduct extensive road tests over a long period. As previously announced, we have significantly changed the layout from the previous model. It is now catalyst-free, and the front pipe line differs greatly from the OEM part. The finisher exits as a single outlet from the left end of the diffuser. We have commenced redevelopment of the E46-M3. With the discontinuation of the exhaust system, LAPTORR products for the E46-M3 are currently unavailable. For LAPTORR, whose product lineup centers on the M3, the E46-M3 is deemed essential, leading to this redevelopment decision.We possess extensive E46-M3 data, so development speed should be faster compared to new models. Current development includes: Dry carbon engine hood and trunk lid design is complete, with prototypes being built. This design prioritizes weight reduction, engine bay cooling, and aerodynamics. Exhaust The previous product started from behind the catalytic converter and used a 4-5-6 front pipe, with the catalytic converter being OEM. The model under development will start from behind the exhaust manifold. We are significantly changing the layout to target performance improvements. Due to this layout change, it may be paired with the rear diffuser currently under development. Specifications are subject to change until development is complete.
